Minna Island is located just 15 minutes by speed boat from Toguchi Port in the northern part of Okinawa Island.
The island can be easily reached from Okinawa Island as there is frequent boat service between Minna and Okinawa islands. It is bustling with tourists during the peak season.
Many visitors are lured to the island for the white sand and clear waters of Minna Beach. Unlike many other neighboring islands, Minna Island is well-equipped with showers, locker rooms, and restrooms. Furthermore, there are an abundance of rental equipment available, such as swim rings and beach parasols. The great variety of marine activities like banana boat tube rides, also contribute to the island’s popularity.
Do note that although this beach is great for having an enjoyable time with family and friends, unlike other neighboring islands, the beach lacks a private beach feel.
As there are lodging facilities on Minna Island, those who want to experience a different side of the island can opt to stay overnight. As a majority of visitors to the island only stay for the day, you can enjoy the beach at morning and evening when there are few tourists around.
