Kaichu Sea Road
Take a refreshing drive as you gaze out at Okinawa’s ocean
Kaichu Sea Road is the bridge that connects 4 islands (Henza Island, Miyagi Island, Ikei Island, Hamahiga Island) in Uruma City to Okinawa Island.
There’s nothing better than taking a drive along the 5-kilometer long road with Okinawa’s blue sea in the backdrop.
Along the bridge there is an Umi-no-Eki (Seaside Station) where you can enjoy ice cream and Okinawan-style tempura as you enjoy the sea from the beach and observation deck.
It’s also a great place to go on nighttime drives. As the bridge is surrounded by the ocean, there is little light pollution, making it a great place for stargazing.
The sound of the waves and the starry night sky makes for a romantic night in Okinawa.
