Minshuku Yunagi-So (Guesthouse)
We recommend Minshuku Yunagi-So for those who want to get a taste of life on an island in Okinawa and those who want to live in Okinawa!
Guests can pick local vegetables with the couple that owns Minshuku Yunagi-So. Meals are served at the retro living room, which also serves as the restaurant and has an at-home atmosphere.
As you engage in yuntaku (talk-story) in Shimakutuba (local language), you will feel like you have become family with the owners.
The rooms are all Japanese-style and are spacious with large windows. Although the building is retro, it is well-maintained.

What kind of island is Tokashiki?
Just 30 kilometers away from Naha, Tokashiki Island is an easily accessible island. It can be reached in about 35 minutes by high speed ferry and 1 hour by ferry from Naha. It is a popular tourist destination, so it is important to reserve boat tickets in advance, especially during summer.
The island has a small population of less that 1,000 residents. There are 3 main areas on the island, Tokashiki to the north, Tokashiku in the west and Aharen in the south.
Many of the accommodation facilities on the island are located near Aharen Beach. We recommend renting a car and taking an easygoing drive around the island, which takes about 2 hours.
There are many ways to get around the island, such as rental bicycle, rental motorbike and sightseeing bus. For those who don’t want to feel inconvenienced, this is a great island to visit.
Enjoy the abundant nature and slow lifestyle of Tokashiki Island.
Have a relaxing time at your choice of accommodation, whether it be a hotel, pension, log house, minshuku-style guesthouse, or private villa.
